Port of Oakland hires 15-year systems exec to lead IT team
Oakland, Calif. – June 28, 2016: The Port of Oakland today named 15-year-veteran systems executive Eva Jakubowska as its new Information Technology Director. Ms. Jakubowska comes to the Port from Livingston, CA-based Foster Farms where she was Senior IT Director. In Oakland, she’ll manage a staff of 14 responsible for the Port’s information systems.
“Technology is at the heart of everything we do so we’re excited to benefit from Eva’s talent and experience,” said Port of Oakland Executive Director Chris Lytle.
The new IT Director will manage systems for the Port’s three business lines: Maritime, Aviation and Commercial Real Estate. The Port depends heavily on information technology to serve customers.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to work across diverse business lines for users who really depend on our technology,” said Ms. Jakubowska.
Ms. Jakubowska has held senior IT roles in fields as diverse as consumer products, manufacturing and financial services. Before Foster Farms, she ran Global Information Technology for ITT. She also led systems divisions at Tyco and Pepsico.
The new IT Director received a Master’s Degree in Information Systems and Management from New York University. She graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.
